At the foot of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, 20 minutes from the services, we offer this stone farmhouse with land to be restored. The property consists of a main body used as a residential unit and a building, once the old stable, on two levels, which can become the annex. All within the property of about 400 square meters. The house is on two levels with the kitchen, a large living room and the cellar on the ground floor. Internal stairs lead to the upper floor where we find the 3 bedrooms, one of which has a south-facing balcony, and the bathroom. Outside the house we find the old oven. A few meters away is the old stable on two levels, not connected internally. The ground floor still shows the old intended use, while the mezzanine floor is very high with exposed roof beams. This property can be transformed into a housing unit and thus create an annex to give any guests their privacy. This property is in need of a total renovation and has great future potential. The stone in this area is very beautiful and characteristic. Adjacent to the property passes the old Francigena road on horseback. Montelungo is known as a summer holiday resort for its cool and breezy climate, it is also known as a spa, due to the presence of the Fonte della Virtł, a spring from which healing water flows. In the past, the town was an important stop on the ancient Via Francigena with a hospitale (xenodochio) held by the monks of Bobbio. In particular, the village is the XXXII stage of the itinerary of Sigeric (Archbishop of Canterbury of the tenth century) where the locality is called Sce Benedicte from the name of the parish church, dedicated to St. Benedict: a church that is located not far from this property.
